Growing up every Halloween costume was homemade by my mom. My favorite of all time was this gypsy costume because the scarf tied around my head had gold hoop earrings made from curtain rings.
I always assumed these DIY costumes were simple for mom to whip together and that I would do the same for my daughters. And then I tried, I really did.
Two years ago my oldest daughter decided to be Izzy from the Neverland Pirates. This was something I could definitely pull off but it would require a trip to the fabric store. After searching for necessary supplies for thirty minutes then standing in the “wrong” line for another twenty minutes, I swore that my time was much more valuable than a DIY Halloween costume.
The sentiment is nice but I’m really not as crafty as I thought. So now we just do the best we can and buy our costumes.
Halloween is just around the corner but it’s NOT too late to order beautiful costumers from Chasing Fireflies! My girls were so excited to select their costumes from the catalog and I have to admit I was excited too.
This year E was adamant about being a Vampire Princess. We searched through Chasing Fireflies Valentina Vampiress.
Of course we had to get the matching tiara and earrings (sold separately). Isn’t this beautiful? This being our first year wearing Chasing Fireflies, I was starting to want one for myself!
L wanted to wear a Venetian Carnival Queen. A dramatic scene of Venice is printed on the gown’s satin skirt and comes with a sparkly lace overlay bodice, floral waistband detailing and lavish tulle trim.
I love the details on this dress – long lacy sleeves and coat overlay with an ombre skirt with attached hoop pettiskirt blending blood red and tombstone gray. She knows how to play the part. Accessories sold separately but you can purchase the tiara, dark sparkle necklace, dark sparkle earrings and black sheer tights.
Gloves, sparkling earrings and a mask are also available with the Venetian Carnival Queen. I forgot to order the mask but we had this one around the house that worked perfectly. Don’t you love the sequin detail on this dress? Stunning…
E can’t stop wearing the tiara and earrings.
You can’t go wrong with Chasing Fireflies and the extensive selection of kids Halloween costumes. There is something for everyone, even for family!
