April has 8 summer beauty tips for ya!
Memorial Day always seems to kick off the start of summer. I know, technically it’s still spring, but now that the sun is really shinning in the Chi, it’s time to change up the old beauty routine.
Our beauty needs change just like the seasons. I always use this time of the year to clean out my products, stock up on summer basics, and make small adjustments with my daily beauty tasks.
Here’s 8 adjustments you should make for a better summer beauty routine:
- Switch out your foundation for a tinted moisturizer. Some foundations are just too heavy and won’t survive the heat. But a good moisturizer with some color will – or at least last longer!
- Give your eye makeup a break and focus on your lips. All you need is a coat or two of mascara and a tinted lip balm and you’ll be set.
- Find a dressing up a baseball hat, but there are tons of wide brimmed options out there too. Hats are great for keeping the sun’s damaging rays off your face. Plus, having a hat handy means you won’t have to worry too much about that pesky humidity messing up your do – just throw a hat on!
- Speaking of the sun’s rays, get yourself some sunscreen! Toss out any bottles that have expired and restock your shelves. Pick up some aloe vera, too – just in case you need relief from sunburn.
- Give your styling tools a break and let your hair air dry. Use some sea salt spray to get that beach hair look.
- I love starting the season with a pedicure. But to keep my feet sandal ready in-between nail sessions, I scrub my feet daily with a pumice stone and apply a foot cream nightly.
- Sun, heat, and chlorine can dry out your skin just as much as winter does! Make sure to moisturize with a lotion or cream that also helps renew your skin.
- Increase your water in take! This one goes without explanation. I make sure to get plenty of water by starting my day with a tall glass. Then I make sure I have a glass before every meal. Not a water person? Add some fresh fruit to your glass of water to give it a little flavor.
I know that we’re all itching for the this summer season to get started, but make sure your beauty routine is ready too!

Vitamin C is an essential nutrient required by the body for the development and maintenance of scar tissue, blood vessels, and cartilage. Vitamin C is also necessary for creating ATP, dopamine, peptide hormones, and tyrosine. As a powerful antioxidant, vitamin C helps lessen oxidative stress to the body and is thought to lower cancer risk.
