The most common question I’m asked about completing Dr Oz’s 3 Day Cleanse is – Where do I go from now? I’ll be honest it’s not easy, but it’s important to remember that a 3 day cleanse is not designed for weight loss.
The goal is to reset your hormones and metabolism so your body can begin burning fat. Before considering any type of cleanse you should consult your doctor and have a plan of action how to proceed pre and post cleanse.
You Survived Dr Oz’s 3 Day Detox Cleanse – Now What?
My tips for staying on track
- Continue drinking 1-2 Dr Oz smoothies per day. If you enjoyed Dr. Oz’s smoothie recipes, rotate throughout the week to keep things interesting. This is a severe calorie restriction so maybe focus on drinking one per day and eating clean all your other meals.
- Invest in a VitaMix. This is not necessary but after a year researching and debating, I finally broke down and took the plunge this month. It’s a big investment but incorporating greens like kale, spinach, parsley into your smoothies is major boost to your health. I compared the Vita Mix with juicers and the main difference is fiber and how the body metabolizes juice in general.
- Eliminate White Foods. I’m sure this is nothing new but it’s the easiest way to keep yourself on track. Sandwiches and pasta are my weakness and I can only allow myself to splurge once per week. Any more than that it seems I fall off the wagon.
- Limit alcohol intake. Trust me coming from someone who LOVES her red wine, this is so difficult and my biggest downfall. During my detox and cleansing I eliminate all together for at least two weeks. After that I’ll allow myself a glass of wine one night per week followed by large consumptions of water.
- Exercise, exercise, exercise. Sorry but if you don’t move, neither will your belly fat.
- Sleep. I’ve spent countless hours researching how our hormones affect weight loss and lack of sleep is the primary factor. Incorporating a magnesium supplement like helps with insomnia.
