Last spring when our basement flooded we took the opportunity to create a mini mudroom. This entailed replacing the carpet at the door with tile. It turned out beautiful and such a better option.
The next step was to create an area where the girls could hang their backpacks and coats rather than hauling upstairs everyday after school. But I needed inspiration so of course I turned to Pinterest.
Counting Our Blessings provided a full tutorial of a $40 mudroom makeup. Very impressive but my space is much smaller. This was the look I wanted but something that didn’t require so much DIY.
I loved the baskets in this photo because we needed a place for gloves and hats. Now if only I could find an all in one piece that could just be hung on the wall.
After researching online I found this perfect piece from Ballard Designs. It has hooks for coats, a shelf for keys and baskets for hats and gloves. Perfect!
The shelving was wide enough to place the girl’s photos above – just like my pinspiration.
What really won me over was the metal detail and wire baskets. So unique and fits our style perfectly.
