You could say I am obsessed with my skincare routine and try a lot of products. Skincare over 40 can be problematic (thank you hormones!) and it’s important to incorporate exfoliation regularly.
If you remember it was during my last chemical peel when the esthetician mentioned my cleanser wasn’t doing such a great job and she suggested at my age it was important to use a cleanser with glycolic acid that can provide gentle exfoliation.
Exfoliating is the one gift to give yourself and to keep your skin glowing after 40. As our skin ages the natural sloughing of dead skin cells slows down. Exfoliating helps keep this process working at a faster rate. And by not removing the dead cells, anything used on your skin will just sit on top of the dead skin. Which means the products are not penetrating and it’s a waste.
derma-e’s Anti-Wrinkle Vitamin A Glycolic Cleanser received rave reviews on their website so I decided to give it a try. Since using for the past few weeks, I really like the product.
It does a great job removing dirt, oil, and impurities without drying out my skin. The Vitamin A, commonly referred to as the “skin vitamin”, along with Glycolic Acid, Sea Kelp and Papaya promote gentle surface cell renewal.

Eye cream is another product that requires special attention. Personally if you are under 40, start paying close attention to this now rather than later. My biggest struggle are the fine lines (crows feet) and under eye puffiness. The eyes are the gateway to showing signs of aging.
Of course puffiness can be related to lack of sleep and not enough water, but having a product that helps reduce is so important. Not all eye creams are created equally.
