Raising two daughters (3 and 5), playing dress-up and primping are common place in our home. While they’re looking in the mirror, I ‘m diverting their attention to more important things like inner beauty, confidence and self-esteem.
Reinforcing positive behavior has been top priority for our family, but as the girls get older I notice how external factors like television, school and toys influence the way they perceive themselves. Imagine your 4 year old looking in the mirror one day and crying because she doesn’t like the way she looks and she doesn’t LIKE herself.
It’s heartbreaking and stops you in your tracks. When my oldest spoke those words to me last year, I realized how important my job was to turn the focus away from her reflection and toward being smart and confident.
That’s why I was excited to learn about the new Alexandra Rain app that teaches girls to be who they are! Since downloading this weekend, my girls can’t seem to get enough. It’s animated, colorful and super easy to use unassisted.
L gives a quick demo of how easy it is to navigate and the features she loves. Fashion never seems to be far from her mind. Alexandra and friends have become a part of our daily routine.
Your daughter will follow the journey of a spunky and fashionably 8 year old little girl named Alexandra Rain, who calls herself a “Super Model Extraordinaire”! While she enjoys modeling fun fashion styles, what she loves to model most is the kindness in her heart. The first book in this series is all about courage. The book takes you through an interactive story about a typical day at school when Alexandra is afraid and needs to find her courage.
The term “Super Model” is not used in the traditional sense for Alex’s story. The Alexandra Rain series is an entertaining story that teaches kids the value of modeling kind virtues like love, peace, strength and courage. The definition of ‘model’ is understood in two different ways. Alex is a fashionista and likes to model clothes and jewelry, but her primary focus is modeling kind, positive behavior.
Alexandra Rain teaches girls to be who they are! Be a princess, be rock-n-roll, be a tom-boy, be silly, and be smart! Model your style and model an abundance of kindness with your smile!

I would teach her, to be kind and loving and to follow her dreams always and to be independent and not rely on anyone but herself. That’s what made me strong! =) good luck everyone!

It’s not too hard to teach my daughter to be brave, strong, and courageous because she has an older brother. If she’s not standing up to him to make sure he’s not taking her things or being mean to her, then she’s following him around to join in his adventures.

My 9 year old daughter (and I) is obssesed with the American Girl Dolls. I love them because it teaches young girls to be brave, strong, and have a lot of courage. And to believe in their dreams, anything is possible when you set your mind to it 🙂
