One of the easiest ways to look polished and ready for the day is to wear lipstick. Red, orange, pink – the color doesn’t matter – it will all help brighten up your face and make you look wide awake.
A bold lip has been my go-to for a while now. I found that to create the perfect look, you need three basic supplies: concealer, lip liner, and lip color.
Lipstick should always be the last makeup that you apply in your routine. I start prepping my lips for color by putting concealer around my lip lines and on my lips. This will create a crisp line and a bold color. My current concealer is Bye Bye Under Eye from It Cosmetics. I love it because it’s anti-aging, waterproof and it is concentrated – a little goes a long way!
I line and fill my lips next – following up by rubbing the liner into my lips with my finger. I’ve been impressed with the Palladio Herbal Precision Lip Liner. This color – Candy Apple – looks great with shades of red, pink, or orange lipstick. Plus, it’s a self-sharpening pencil, so no messy sharpening required.
The last step is to apply lipstick. I use Revlon’s Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Romantic. If I want my color to really last, I’ll blot my lips with tissue, then reapply my lipstick.
This method is a really great and easy way to apply red lips! I swear it will last all day long without running. I usually apply my lipstick around 7:30 in the morning, touch up after lunch, and have no problems with it lasting into the evening.
