When it comes to makeup, I like to either focus on my eyes or give my lips a nice, bold color.
Well, over the weekend my husband and I went on a food tasting tour of a local Chicago neighborhood. Since I knew that I was going to be eating my heart out, I also knew that applying a lip color every half hour was not worth it. So I decided to focus on my eyes for the day.
I have blue eyes and usually stick with brown shades – as far as eyeliner, eye shadow, and mascara are concerned. But for the food tour, I decided to have a little fun and test out a new shade of eyeliner.
I had gotten an Endless Silky Eye Pen by Pixi in Emerald Gold to test out.
I wasn’t sure at first how the color would look with my eyes, but this sparkly dark green actually looked pretty good. The pen applied very smoothly to my eyes and blended nicely with a blackish shadow I used to set it in place. (Usually when I apply liner to my top lids, I follow-up with an eye shadow to create a subtle smoky eye look.)
The color – Emerald Gold – that I tested does have a bit of a shimmer to it. At first this bothered me a little, but overall I like the playfulness that it added to my eyes.
One thing that really got my attention – besides for the smooth application – was that by the end of the day, the Silky Eye Pen held up really well! Usually I’m fixing minor smudges of eyeliner by 3 o’clock, but this stuff lasted. I’m really thinking that I’m going to need to try some of Pixi’s other shades.
This Endless Silky Eye Pen was a total win.
