It’s officially summer, school is out, kids are home {ALL DAY} and I’m trying to find ways to keep everyone active and away from devices. Some days coming up with fun outdoor games are easier than others. Am I the only mom pulling my hair out coming up witht ideas to keep the kiddos entertained?
My summer survival handbook is Well Played by Meredith Sinclair. If you don’t own this book yet, please go buy it. Now.
It’s packed with a ton of free things to do that are simple, many are free, spontaneous and require very little effort. It will save you hours from searching Pinterest. Basically a game changer (no pun intended) for modern day parents.
Now back to the outdoor games we love…I’ve learned it’s all about having fun and things they can do on their own. If the kids aren’t able to be independent and have a laugh it’s not worth the time or money.
A few summers ago as I was searching for giant wooden blocks, GoSports sent us a set to try out. If you love playing Jenga, these should be on your summer shopping list. Made from hand selected knot free pine blocks (lower cost towers use lower grade wood that doesn’t hold up) that stacks up to over 5 feet during play.
Includes 54 Giant Blocks, a canvas carrying case and bonus dry erase board to make your own optional party rules: goofy rules, adult themed rules, and more!
Our kids are obsessed and our giant wooden block set has made the rounds to almost every outdoor adult party we’ve attended. Becomes a fun drinking game too (if you’re into that kinda thing)….The canvas bag makes it easy to transport in the car and store in the garage year round. Plus we can bring it inside during the winter and play year round. Bonus!
We’ve put together some our favorite outdoor games from GoSports. Most can be played year round and indoors too.
Fun Outdoor Games We Love
These outdoor games make great Father’s Day gifts too.
