Ask me to recreate a favorite holiday glam look and this girl is ready to go. Mary Kay did just that sending an assortment of products in a fabulous black box, which by the way looked perfect under the Christmas tree. Looks like Santa came a little early this year.
The mission was to master my assigned look – Flapper Chic. With so many goodies to chose from this was going to be a breeze. I couldn’t wait to get started.
When I think of flapper chic, I envision flirty and fun. It’s all about creating a dramatic smokey eye. To balance the intensity of the eyes, I’ll keep lips and cheeks neutral.
The techniques to pull off this look are simple and takes very little effort. It’s fun to experiment and try new things, especially for holiday party season. Who doesn’t love to play dress up?
How to get a 20’s inspired look:
Start with the Lash Love Mascara in I ♥ Black.
I’m loving bold lips this season, however it’s important to focus on one focal point. To balance an intense smokey eye, I used Mary Kay Mineral Bronzing Powder in Desert Sun on the cheeks.
The look is complete with The White-Hot Suit.
I’ve had a blast playing around with all the products and can’t wait to work the Flapper Chic trend at my next holiday party this week. I’m now inspired to shop Mary Kay for holiday gifts. These would be perfect for beauty baskets, secret Santa gifts, or give yourself a holiday makeover. For more ideas check out their holiday board on Pinterest.
I’m obsessed with highlighting concealer pens and the Mary Kay Facial Highlighting Pen (shade 2 -Dewy/Luminous) is my new favorite. At some point you realize the dark circles and puffiness need to be diminished.
If you haven’t gotten the memo yet, your new best friend are cosmetics with light-reflecting pigments that optically “lift” the shadowy areas of your face. Mary Kay’s Facial Highlighting Pen makes your skin look brighter, your tone more even and your face more radiant. It’s super sheer and easy to blend. Love, love, love!
