School’s out and summer is here! We’re sharing our list of Hot Summer Toys and necessary supplies. No matter if you’re chillin’ at home or on the go, it’s easy to go overboard with things that we think we need versus things that are a necessity.
Summer Toys for Home
Water Table – Our favorite outdoor toy that is small enough for a patio, terrace or balcony space. (24 months – 6 years)
Kiddie Pool – Inexpensive and hours of fun! We paid $5 for our pool four years ago. Find it at your local hardware store.
Sidewalk Chalk – Decorate your sidewalk beautiful and let your little one showcase his/her mini Picasso. Sidewalk chalk is a wonderful way to play creatively!
Summer Toys & Gear for Travel
Water Resistant Blanket – #1 must have for trips to the park and summer festivals. We love these bright and fun designs by Tuffo.
On the Go Potty – Potty training or fully trained this is our #2 must have product. Not a fan of public potties? This is your solution and the best on the go potty training product that can be taken anywhere that you may not have access to a sanitary bathroom.
Water Bottles – Baby it’s hot outside and water is the key to staying hydrated. We are loving these versatile anti water bottles by Vapur. What’s not to love about an eco-friendly bottle that is reusable, foldable, washable, freezable and attachable?
Wagon – Load up all your gear and have enough space for mom, dad and kids. Perfect for trips to the park, zoo and outdoor festivals. Radio Flyer’s Ultimate Comfort Wagon features a 5-way flip and fold seats for multiple riding options, expandable rear storage bag and removable padded seat pads for extra comfort.
Sunscreen – We are big fans of Episencial Sunny Sunscreen SPF 35. Did you know their products are perfect for sensitive skin at any age – from birth up? As always, check with your doctor before you use any products on your infant.
Playground Ball – Simple yet perfect for the playground, beach, sports and group games – fun indoors and out!
Snacks – Biggest challenge for moms with little ones is containing snacks on the go. We love the BPA, Phthalate and PVC free Flip-Top Snack Cup from OXO Tot. Its petite size and non-slip grips make it easy for little hands to hold. Perfect for tucking into a diaper bag or a stroller cup holder for snacks on the go. For Ages: 12 mos+.
Push Buggy Car – This should be on every sassy mom’s baby registry. Buggy cars are a fun alternative to the stroller and toddlers love pretending to “drive”. Parents love the convenience for quick trips around the block, to the park or leisurely walks.
Balance Bike – Popular in Europe, balance bikes have caught on in the US over the past few years. Forgo the traditional toddler bikes with “training wheels”. Pedal free bikes help your child develop balance and motor skills for children 2 years (depending on size) up to 5 or 6 years. We’re fans of the Smart Gear Bike that retails around $75.00. Don’t forget the helmet!
So Chic Tip: Short on storage? Partner with neighbors with similar aged children and toy share. We found that community toys saved us hundreds of dollars and helped maximum limited storage space. Toy swaps are also a great way to limit the amount of “stuff” that comes through your home.
