I’m a sucker for shiny new tech devices. I’m not the person who runs out immediately to buy the next generation and I most definitely do not stand in line. But if the opportunity presents itself, chances are I’m trading my iPad 2 for an iPad mini.
I’ve had the iPad mini for about a month and to be honest, I miss my iPad 2. I’ll admit this was an impulse purchase but the price was reasonable and the size was so appealing. My Verizon rep promised faster speeds and a few other benefits, but I’m not feeling it.
The only thing I really like about the iPad mini is the weight. The screen size is not much bigger than my iPhone. ok a little bigger but not by much. I’m constantly magnifying the screen to read almost everything. I rarely did this on the iPad 2. Losing 2 inches in screen width does matter.
No matter where I am, Wi-fi is really slow if there are more than three windows open in Safari. The speed of the internet is really getting on my last nerve. So much for being faster. Not really sure how it can be faster considering it has the same Dual core – A5 chip as the iPad 2.
Maybe there’s an issue with the device? Who knows but I’ll be taking it back to Verizon next week.
My advice? If you currently own an iPad 2 keep it and if you really must upgrade or this is your first iPad, look into the iPad Air.
Do you have an iPad mini? Do you think it’s worth the upgrade?
