Most women have one or two things they wish they could change about their appearance. Mine happens to be my hair and the number one physical attribute I would love to change about myself. It wasn’t always this way until my beautiful babies joined the world and wrecked havoc on my hormones.
I can’t blame the sassy kids 100% as it is primarily genetics, but I am forever on the hunt for potions, lotions and supplements that will help my hair return back to it’s “normal” state prior to pregnancy.
This summer I met the fantabulous Jon-David (aka the Mafia Hairdresser) one of Chicago’s top hair stylists, while attending an event hosted by one of my favorite mompreneurs, MJ Tam. Of course I asked Jon-David the inevitable question that all stylists are asked the minute they touch my hair – What can I do to grow my fine hair and make it thicker?
Surprisingly, Jon-David’s response was completely different from all the other hair stylists I have grilled over the past three years . He went on to describe a treatment he uses by Nexxus Aloxxi Polymeric, formerly called Emergencee that he conducts on clients who have fine, wimpy, never-grows, wispy-weak hair. I was intrigued but also skeptically and immediately went online to conduct some serious research. Could this be my miracle and the intervention my fine, wimpy hair was longing for?
The reviews I read online were surprising and seemed to have worked for many people who have similar hair issues. I booked an appointment the following week.

The process is simple. Jon- David applies the product on wet hair then laminates the product directly on the hair with a flat iron wrapped in foil, section by section. The foil provides a buffer to prevent burning the hair.
I loved the way my hair felt and looked after the treatment. I realize everyone always looks amazing when leaving the salon. The real question is Would I look this way when I do my hair at home?

When starting out, Jon-David recommends Emergencee 3 times the first month then one time per month after that. Once the hair is coated up well, there is only so much more thickness you will achieve. Sounds expensive?
