Is your workout playlist boring you to death? Spring has sprung which means everyone is focusing on fitness and getting back in shape before summer rolls around.
I’m no exception considering after a two year hiatus from the gym, I decided to take the plunge and join Lakeshore Sport & Fitness Club last week. Mainly because of the awesome kids program but it’s a good excuse to get my rear back in shape.
Turns out joining the gym has more benefits than expected. The Director of Membership, Peter Canellis also happens to be a Chicago DJ and avid runner. During my tour we chatted about running, how much I dislike it and my excuse is directly related to music. I need really, really good music to motivate myself to run. Who doesn’t?
That’s when he proceeded to tell me about his Running the Beat website/podcast on iTunes where he creates Running, Cycling, Aerobics, Yoga, and Pilates music. Oh, and it’s FREE.
I was amazed when I pulled it up on iTunes. How did I NOT know about this??
I’ve been listening to Running to the Beat for about a week and while I have not had the opportunity to run (it’s freezing in Chicago!), I have played it while working out to a Pilates DVD at home. Surprisingly I pushed myself much harder.
When it gets warmer I will definitely be running to one of the 24 Running to the Beat playlists available on iTunes. I guess I could run at the gym right?
If you’re workout playlist needs a boost, pump it up with Running to the Beat!! Running To The Beat is the only place where you will find the best motivational cardio music on the planet. DJ Canellis focuses on Trance, House, Progressive Trance, Balearic Trance, Chillout and Ambient running music.
My favorite is Italia Tea – Celebrate Preview 8-25-2011.
