Recently I attended a very inspiring Nadia. After four days basking in the sun while brainstorming with some of the smartest women in the blogging biz, I had a personal breakthrough about the future of Sassy Moms in the City.
It’s something that’s weighed heavily on my mind for a several years but I wasn’t exactly sure how to transition and wasn’t sure I was ready to let go. How do you let go of a brand and identity you’ve worked incredibly hard to create??
But with our impending move from the city, it’s either now or never. The time has come to make a change.
When I launched Sassy Moms in the City in December of 2009 I had no inkling that I would be hosting this website or it would turn into an actual company five years later. My only goal was to share the products that made my life easier raising kids in the city, recipes I loved, beauty finds, fashion and whatever else motivated me to write. But as the years passed, the focus has become less about being a mom and more about embracing a sassy, chic lifestyle.
Sassy Moms has evolved far beyond motherhood. As my girls have grown, so have I and while I love dishing out mom advice, I’m most passionate about inspiring women no matter what stage of life they may be – single and dating, engaged, married, expectant or experienced mom. I love having an online platform to share my passion for beauty, style, food and all things chic and fabulous.
But let’s be clear – changing a name that you love and adore is not easy! I contemplated for a very long time – what name would be a reflection of my personality but my voice? A new name that I could love as much as Sassy Moms in the City. What would excite me enough to keep this train going?
Then it hit me – So Chic Life! But that was two years ago and the time wasn’t right. I needed to let it sink in, put a plan into action. The wheels of motion began with So Chic Media. It was a start…..
Creating a name was just the beginning of this long journey. Designing a new logo and brand identity would create an entirely different challenge. But I have to give a big shout out to my amazing designer Michelle from After Hours Design Studio. Michelle was instrumental in creating a completely new look that resonates everything I wanted So Chic Life to be!
Taking the time to get to know me personally through a series of phone calls and interview questions and really understanding what I was trying to accomplish, Michelle was just as enthusiastic about this project as I was. It’s rare to find that in a graphic designer. I can’t thank her enough for all the work she’s done. If you need someone with vision and massive creativity please contact After Hours Design Studio. I’m so relived to have found such an amazing partner.
I’m so excited about this new chapter and I hope you will continue to follow along. It’s been almost three years in the making and rather than saying goodbye, I’m embracing a new beginning!
We’re still tweaking things on the website and social media platforms so bear with me for a few days while we work out the kinks. The other person playing a key role in these changes is my website developer Bill Ross with Linch Pin SEO. Another fantastic and critical partner that has proven his weight in gold after fixing major issues behind the scenes.
Thanks again for all your support!! Be sure to follow me on Pinterest.
