Spending most days in active wear unless I have a business meeting doesn’t mean I want to sacrifice style. That’s one of the perks of working from a home office and being your own boss. While I like to keep my daily look casual and comfortable, I still like to look chic.
Fitness wear has come a long way over the past few years and women are taking notice forgoing over sized t-shirts, sweatpants and velour track suits as the standard “mom uniform”. Companies like Wear Me Out, are designing collections for functionality and simplicity while providing pants and tops that are on trend.
mesh racerback support tank | $39.99
Wear Me Out launched in 2008 inspired by the Tae Bo kickboxing craze (now I know why I like this brand so much) quickly becoming a favorite of pilates, yoga, spin and barre class fanatics. Their mission is to provide unique, comfortable, and flattering active wear and casual wear at affordable prices, maintaining the highest quality that any body type can wear.
Wear Me out sent me a pair of Rolldown Cinch Back Capri pants and Mesh Racerback Support Tank in Cockatoo/Black to review. Immediately I noticed the quality of the fabric. It’s much thicker than most workout pants. I loved the layered panel around the waist and the cinched back, designed to keep the pants securely in place during a vigorous workout.
Back to the fabric… All Wear Me Out’s workout wear is made from Original 300 (except the Extreme). This fabric is a combination of 88% Supplex Rayon and 12% Lycra Spandex Nylon designed to keep you tight and dry during any workout. It’s soft with a cotton-like feel reminding me of “Spanx” because it smoothed out the junk in my trunk and there’s no way anything is going to jiggle!
The mesh racerback tank has a built in bra, cinched fabric across the chest, and a V-neckline. It’s extremely flattering and super comfortable. The one thing to note is their designs are cut a little smaller than most brands. I normally wear a medium and this tank is a medium/large. Based on my chest size, the tank will work well for low impact activities like yoga, Pilates, spinning and weight lifting. For more high impact activities like running, Zumba, kickboxing and dance classes, I need a little more support.
Overall I think the quality of the line and the price point is a great value. Don’t be surprised if you see me at the gym and around town in my new Wear Me Out capri pants and racerback tank!
