Lamb Sliders with Avocado Ziki Recipe is one of my favorites from 21 Day Sugar Detox Challenge. Packed with so much flavor – it’s Paleo, Whole 30 compliant.
Tired of making the same ole hamburgers? It’s summer and time to switch it up! As much as I love a good juicy burger on the grill, sometimes using ground lamb is a nice change of pace. If you’re hesitant about using lamb in place of beef, let me change your mind with these Lamb sliders with Avocado Ziki from the 21 Day Sugar Detox Challenge.
Lamb is a little fattier than ground beef but has a high amount of protein (23.5 grams per 3 oz), excellent source of iron, loaded with zinc (immune booster) and a significant amount of anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids.
I’m sure this recipe could work just as well with ground turkey, chicken or beef, however the Greek spices are really what make the lamb work so well. Grass-fed hormone-free ground lamb is what I use and can be found at Whole Foods.
Did you know lamb chops can be disguised “mini steaks”? Just don’t tell my kids. It was the only way I could get them to try it. And guess what? They now love lamb chops and request almost weekly. Listen, desperate times call for white lies when it comes to getting picky eaters to eat in our house.
If you haven’t yet discovered the 21 Day Sugar Detox program – let me tell you why I love it so much! A real food based program, the 21 Day Sugar Detox is designed to reduce and eliminate cravings for sugar and carbohydrates. It’s easy to forget how sugar and unhealthy carbs can creep up in so many foods. I’m not talking about the foods you know have sugar like candy, cocktails and dessert. Foods with hidden sugars we forget about or don’t think about like bread, pasta sauces, salad dressing, “healthy” cereals, condiments and deli meat. And don’t get me started on Starbucks!
I try to adhere to a low sugar, low carb lifestyle but I seem to fall off the wagon especially around the holidays and summer. Ugh summer is the worst. Now that swimsuit season is officially here, sitting by the pool is a total motivator. You can read about my experience here and here.
The next group session begins August 5th but you can start on your own any time here… I get nothing from you trying it out. Simply sharing because I truly do believe sugar can be the devil when it comes to a healthy lifestyle. #sorrynotsorry
Ok so let’s talk about the number of days….21 days may seem like a long time to go without ANY sugar but the recipes are amazing and reprograming your brain NOT to crave sugar is worth it. It takes a minute to break a habit. Plus the recipes are easy to follow and super delicious….
Over the years I’ve shared so many 21 Day Sugar Detox recipes like Jicama Fries, Crumb Topped Brussel Sprouts , Savory Herb Drop Biscuits and Easy Chicken Soup. The cookbooks that come with the program are always on my kitchen counter and referred to weekly, even after four years.
